Payroll Giving is a scheme that enables your employees to give to any UK charity straight from their gross salary (before tax is deducted), and to receive immediate tax relief of up to £4.50 for every £10 donated. It costs less to give more. See Right >>

Payroll Giving is quick and easy to set up and administer and it's a great way for you to demonstrate commitment to the causes that your employees care about. It can also aid retention and recruitment of staff, nurturing and contributing to a healthy CSR program, enabling you to generate a sustainable income stream to charities. Many companies cite payroll giving as the cornerstone to their Corporate Social Responsibility program.

To set up the scheme, you simply need an agreement with one of the three main Payroll Giving Agencies. They are CAF, Charitable Giving and Charities Trust. CAF charge around 4% per donation per month, Charitable Giving and Charities Trust both charge 25p per donation per month. This comes from the donation before being passed on to the charity, unless you choose to pay it on behalf of your employees, thus showing support for the scheme (for help on this and other ways to support the scheme, see incentives )
